Exquisite Corpse 5 (Overland Hex Map)
Each contributor’s field will be a rectangle that includes most of a hex, plus a little bit of two adjacent hexes. These will be about 5-1/4″ wide x 6″ high. Finished pieces should be 300 dpi (1558 x 1800 px). If grid is not included in the final art, clearly identify where openings are so next person can make reasonable connections. If the final scan is oversized, provide clear crop marks.
Going westward, the extra part outside the hex (520 x 900 px) will be the baton. For north and southward, a narrow bit (we’ll figure a reasonable width) of the existing map will be the baton.
Hex scale is assumed to be a 5-6 mile hex.
If you want to participate, sign up in the comments here. I’ll pin this so it’ll be the general instructions. (If the thread gets too borked, I’ll migrate it somehow.) First posters will be assumed to be most interested and also able to turn around a piece quickly. Getting a fast, early start will help open it up so more people can take part.
I’m interested.

Do we want to use hexes w hex grids within them (like for Tenkar’s Landing)? This sort of thang … perhaps w the grid extending to cover the rectangular area to left?

You can treat the interior of the hex however you like – smaller hexes, grid, no hexes, whatever works for you.

Also note: I’ll be overlaying a hex grid over the finished assembled map, so don’t worry too much about including it if it presents a difficulty, but do try to give me a cue at least where the hex corners should be.

Do you mean overlaying just the larger hexes or a sub-grid as well?

I’m going to overlay a larger, individual hex grid for the final. Anything internal is up to the individual.

I’d be interested in participating although I’ve never done one of these before. Also, I’m not sure how fast of a turnaround I can make. What’s considered quick?

A couple days would be ideal. A week or more, I’ll try to set you up with something that’s less important for the next participants to work from.

Do you have reference to a map with hexes of the rough size that you’re proposing here? I’m not sure I quite get it. The hexes seem fantastically large and I want to make sure I’m not missing something.

Don’t know of something I can point to for you Christopher Weeks Making it a reasonable size to be able to draw in, and then I may downsize the prints so that they are finer detail, but can fit a page
